About the Project
Don’t Age, Engage! is a European project dedicated to promoting active and healthy ageing. The project focuses on reducing social isolation among older adults by combining creativity, movement, cognitive stimulation, and innovative educational resources. Through practical activities and professional training, it empowers both seniors and those who work with them to foster participation, well-being, and meaningful social engagement in later life.
Main Objectives
Our mission is divided into three fundamental pillars:
To empower
Equip caregivers, educators, and professionals with practical methodologies, tools, and skills to implement active ageing programmes combining physical, mental, and artistic activities.
Connect
Foster social participation and reduce loneliness among older adults through group activities that encourage interaction, creativity, and community engagement.
Innovate
Introduce holistic and creative approaches to active ageing by integrating movement, cognitive stimulation, and art into professional practices and care contexts.
Who is it for?
👩🏫 Professionals and Caregivers
Professionals working in elderly care and rehabilitation centres — including social workers, psychologists, educators, therapists, and caregivers — who design and implement intervention plans for seniors. The project strengthens their capacity to integrate physical, mental, and artistic activities into their daily professional practice through targeted training, practical tools, and a structured intervention framework for active ageing.
👴 Seniors (+65)
Older adults aged 60 and over, particularly those in elderly care and rehabilitation centres or living in community settings, who face risks of social isolation, reduced physical and cognitive activity, and age-related dependency. The project supports them in becoming more physically active, mentally stimulated, socially engaged, and creatively involved through structured physical, mental, and artistic activities implemented by trained professionals.
